So what?
A guy in his mid sixties is going to Africa to learn about wildlife. What's the big deal?

If you thought this, or something similar, then please read on. Because on this page, I will try to discuss some topics that are important. Not just to me, but to all of us.
You may have heard the phrase about a butterfly flapping its wings in Japan and causing a storm in New York. There is some truth in that phrase. Creation took billions of years to create the fragile balance of the unbelievably complex system of life as we can see it today. This balance, based on everything on earth being interlinked, is something we, humans, can not comprehend. Especially since we never tried to. Despite our so called intelligence and our technology, we simply started to rape that balance, rather than understand it.
I have no idea (just like 99.99% of the population) what the effect will be of this behaviour. I fear the worst, based on some of the effects we can already see. But there are a couple of things I do have ideas about. Some vague, some pretty clear, but without exception, I think they can help to come to a basic understanding of all that’s around us. And I hope that my trip to Africa will teach me things, about creation, about life, about myself, that can build on that basis and help me understand a bit more than what I understand now. So that’s the big deal.
And if it doesn’t work out that way, then at least these topics will help you understand me better. 😉
